El Centro de Oro (Center of Gold), also known as the "Golden Block", is a Puerto Rican commercial district centered on the "5th & Lehigh" intersection in the Fairhill neighborhood in the east side of North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Puerto Rican cultural rhythms, businesses, and restaurants flourish in the area. El Centro de Oro is home to many family-owned businesses, cultural centers and organizations. Notable organizations include Taller Puertorriqueño, Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha, and Artístas y Músicos Latino Americanos.
Taller Puertorriqueño (Puerto Rican Workshop) is a community-based cultural education organization dedicated to preserving, developing, and promoting Puerto Rican artistic and cultural traditions, while supporting a better understanding of other Latin American cultures and the common Latino heritage.〔(Taller Puertorriqueño ).
